Silver Lake trailhead? I took my Impala up, no problem.
Maybe it depends on the year and road conditions? Or are you confusing it with Pittsburg Lake, where the road is a lot rougher.

Is the hike from silver lake flat to silver lake reasonable for small kids?

I hiked it last month so I imagine little kids will do just fine

Yep. That was our little kids first hike and they were totally fine.

I wouldn't take mine, it's a long uphill hike with 1-2 sketchy

You also want a big vehicle to get to the trailhead if you've never been.

Yeah, my Subaru got up just fine. I wonder if a mini van can

I've done it in a minivan. Not ideal, but we made it.

Pretty much any car can make it.

Went up last week. Road is much better than it used to be.

I took a 6-year-old and he had zero problems. It's not hard.

How small? 5 and older, yes. It's only 2 miles and not steep.

I'd say the last half mile is decently steep

The end is steep, but it doesn't seem very long.
