to Jamaal when trying to decide if he's going to be any good. It makes people start thinking that if you're not Jamaal, you're no good. And since Jamaal was one of the best in the nation, of course he's not going to be Jamaal. There's this "he's not Jamaal so he won't be any good" type of attitude on CB.
He was just saying there are similarities. And there are. There were a number of times it was hard to tell it wasn't Jamaal out there. And this is also a kid in his first full year in games, which just happened to be a new offense so he didn't get to have anything carry over from being a member of the team the year before. There are definitely similarities. In no way does it mean he's going to be Jamaal. But he should be just fine and still has two years to turn into a really good back.
Hope he takes it seriously and pushes himself in this role as an upperclassman leader. He has the ability and he knows it. Just needs to be confident and work hard.
