In a lot of ways it's ran like a "super" league or a competition version for youth football. It doesn't have the rec feel to it. If you're looking for a city league experience where it isn't taken serious you'll find yourself disappointed. If you're going into it ok with the idea that there's a chance your kids age group could possibly have an A,B,C and even further team after tryouts then you'll be in good shape. How many teams and how tryouts go is based on the community of course.
If you're planning to take it reasonably serious you'll be impressed with the overall experience. If you're not planning on other coaches, players parents etc to take it serious it'll probably bother you.
