Over the last few months, all I see on Facebook are relatives and friends on amazing vacations. We've taken a few short 3-day and 4-day trips in the region this summer, but nothing in the $5,000+ range. I've seen multiple two-week vacations to Europe, one friend's family went to Cuba, another family to Hawaii, numerous Caribbean cruises (some through Disney), another family to California, a couple others did the Washington DC/NYC thing.

I make pretty good money, but with a family of 6 and with airfare higher than normal, I just don't have a spare $5,000 to $10,000 it would cost to do these vacations I'm seeing. I don't know how all these families do it.
