The lack of CGI in Dunkirk is refreshing.
I can only take so much CGI in a movie before I start to get tired of it. One of my favorite aspects of Nolans films is he tries to use real props and sets as much as possible, and prefers it that way over CGI. I know this isn't breaking news.

I loved the warbird scenes. I hate when movies use CGI fighter planes because it rarely is done well enough it makes me believe it's real. Nolan went out and found real WWII planes, and built full scale models when needed.
