My apologies - to me "on the road" has always meant "away game"
It is my humble opinion that away games and neutral site games are different. Even if one team has significantly more fans.

We didn't win an "away" game or "road" game in '09 versus Oklahoma. We won a neutral site game where they had a lot more fans than us.

When we played Michigan State in hoops a few years back in SLC (2006? 2007?), we didn't lose a "home game". We lost a neutral site game.

As with Oklahoma in 2009, Both BYU and LSU will have to deal with unfamiliar pre-game logistics, travel, different playing surface, sideline space, etc.

As someone who has lived deep in SEC territory for years and attended many SEC games in multiple stadiums, I can assure you that playing LSU in Houston is NOT the same as playing them at Death Valley.

But I guess you are saying "on the road" means "not at home" which I can see.
