OK, ya got me - kind of. But, I was including myself in those critics who were
doubting him, and I'm totally happy if I turn out to be wrong also. However, you should take note of the word "concede." I used that word conspicuously because I was certainly not the one leading the charge to marginalize Taysom. However, at the point in the season when I made that comment, it started to look more and more like his injuries and possibly associated physical limitations had robbed from him the player he once was. He actually then started to look better as the season progressed prior to the USU game injury, and on in to the BYU NFL pro day, when he started to look more like the Taysom of old, a beast!

So, "conceding" is actually what reasonable people do when they're exposed to evidence that their position is looking more shaky than sound. Furthermore, not being ever able to concede, regardless of evidence to the contrary is typically a much bigger problem in our world. Unlike politicians, some of us can actually change our position when presented with more data, possibly even change our mind more than once as more and more new information comes to bear. It can actually be the sign of a nimble mind, not pinned down by agendas and pre-conceptions.

Regardless, it was never the doubting of his ability to play the game by "some" that ever bothered me, as much as the way in which "some" people (not all) belittled Taysom, and were so quick to marginalize him, despite what he had already done for BYU and its fans, and what he had to go through to come back each time. He deserved our "long-suffering" IMO, not our disdain at every failed play or passing route. So, if you don't feel you were part of the "some people" I was referring to, then the comment was not directed at you.

Still, I have to commend JoFan on the dig - I would likely have done it too if I had had the same juicy "dirt" at my fingertips. How could anyone resist?
