Grammar nerds, listen up. What's the proper way to note units of measurement after a number?

Example: 0.08mm or 0.08 mm. Space between the last number and units, or no space?

I find .08mm to be much easier to read. That's my vote.

However, if you're going to use a decimal point, a zero should precede it.

In the UK there is no space (50m, 12cm, etc.) However the SI Standard says to include a space. So do whatever you want
