I'm a BYU alum/BSU homer, but I don't think BSU would have done any better against the teams BYU played. Both teams seem to be having the exact same troubles right now. BYU's issues are just more visible because of the competition IMO:

- Bad o-line play

- QB who was good a couple years ago wasn't doing well and then was injured & now his more mobile backup is playing

- no running game (both teams lost their star rb to the nfl)

- no wr playmakers (except for cedrick wilson for BSU)

- both fan bases have people who are skeptical of the new OC/playcalling/scheme
