There's no evidence that the protests meaningfully impacted the FB team. The real problem was that Pinkel had cancer and retired. If he were still there, the team would be fine. Instead it had almost total coaching turnover, including some total duds.
The protests did impact enrollment, but they didn't make special teams play worse. Etc.
As for the football team, which saw millions in donations disappear overnight, well, it's a full-fledged dumpster fire.
This past year the athletic department set an all time record in donations. They have a state funding and a tuition problem, but donors have been the most generous they've ever been since the protest.
