having a dog door that he can use to go into the yard at any time.

We tried a crate but he figured out how to break out of it like six months ago.

We tried locking his automatic dog door so that he couldn't come in the house when he couldn't be closely supervised. He's strong enough to break through the door. I've replaced that dog door and he broke the replacement.

So we tried keeping him in my son's room with the door closed at night so he wouldn't crap in the basement. He figured out how to open my son's door.

Today while we were at my in-laws he broke into the house again, opened the pantry door, and ate a ton of food out of there spreading it around the house.

And chewed up a bunch more stuff.
