why would a JC player be ahead of anyone else? I know my post history is going to be filled with about 5000 of these posts, but I'll keep saying it. It's more risky to get a JC player with the kind of offense that is apparently taking longer for players to understand. JC programs are set up to exploit athleticism and get kids recruited, not to teach them how to do things in an offense like this. And you don't recruit JC players to RS them. You can get a few, sure, but there's just a much greater risk that they're not going to get it down right away, making it a waste.
And I don't think it would really be all their fault either. I'm not convinced Ty or some other members of the staff are very great at teaching things to players, no matter how much of a "football genius" they are.
You adapt the offense a bit, sure. As it was originally planned, no. Players had been regressing and that's not a good sign for adding a JC kid who you want to make a big impact immediately.
I think some of this board has an overblown misconception about JC guys. I'd be willing to bet you don't see as many JC recruits at places with offenses geared this way.
I think we'd have to change things in order for it to really pay off a percentage of time that makes it worth it.
Defense is a different story. I'm all for it. Go get a Penisini/Tanielu type, or a DB. We should always get DBs. I can't say the same for offensive players right now. I wish they'd get a JC safety. That would be nice right now. A Khari Vanderbilt type player. A Rob Daniel (except actually put him at safety where he belongs).
