I was going to start a separate thread about this, but figured I'd drop some thoughts here, instead.
I didn't watch one second of the BYU game today, but I did hear part of it on the radio. I was mildly surprised at Wrubell's displeasure with Hifo when he dropped a pass early in the game. I've never heard him be more frustrated.
What was most interesting about today, though, was that I did sit down to watch part of the USC, Utah game. As I was watching, it hit me how much I'm missing quality football on Saturday -- it was like a breath of fresh air. No, I will never pull for the Utes, as I am a hater. But I was impressed with the talent on that team-- both teams, really. It was just an entertaining game to watch. Both sides played tough; they fought hard; they both wanted to win, you could just see it. And above all, they had real talent. Offenses were actually moving!
Anyways, I don't ever think I'll abandon BYU completely, but after that Utah, USC game, I decided to cool it with BYU football for a while. I thought to myself, why subject myself to such a crappy product, when there's so many other interesting choices?
I do like Washington State, and I like USC too. I also like anyone who's playing the Utes, so next week I'll have at least three viewing options, and none of them will be BYU.
