I've heard it's just geared more towards weight lifting and not actual
performance improvement. So much of S&C has become improving athleticism (speed, agility, flexibility, balance, strength, etc) over just lifting a ton of weight benching, squatting, and power cleaning.

I've heard a lot of chatter that the S&C program is more like the latter.
