We live in a middle class neighborhood. No one around here is wealthy, except for my next-door neighbor.
He's an 84 year old single man who lives by himself. He has been wealthy for a long time, but earlier this year he sold his apartment complex for $10 million. He doesn't quite know what to do with all his money now. So, he goes around giving stuff to the neighbors all the time.
Three years ago he gave me a motorcycle, which I drive to work every day. When I've had to get my motorcycle to the shop, more than once he has loaded it on his trailer and delivered it for me. He will pay his lawn care company to treat our lawn. Many times I've caught him mowing and edging our front lawn. Once or twice a month he'll bring over a pile of food. His excuse is always that he saw too good of a deal, and couldn't pass it up. Tonight we got a spiral ham, two cases of strawberries, and a giant pumpkin pie.
Jack is alright by me.
