a big band aid on an utterly broken machine. Particularly if Gary were to come in & do really well -- cuz that's a scenario where I don't see him staying past a single season.
And this isn't to say I don't think Kalani deserves another year or two. He does. But I want to see the evidence he knows how to take a team & build it up. And I think hiring a quick-fix like Gary wouldn't give us a clear idea of his abilities at the HC spot.
BTW, when I say "utterly broken machine" I don't necessarily mean the system that Kalani is the head of. I'd like to also see the evidence our AD can coordinate w our HC & make a solid hire (if not a golden hire). One that keeps on giving--in a way that brings definitive, sustainable strength back to our program.
