Blame it on Sitake, Detmer, or Mahe - take your pick or blame all three. The staff didn't seem to understand that rotating backs in and out of the game with seemingly no rhyme or reason was hurting performance. I like Fonua - he runs hard - but there's no way he runs for 213 on anyone. Ditto for Trey Dye. Tolutau is the one guy on the roster that I do think is an upgrade over Squally, but it's honestly not by much.

Squally isn't a great back, but he has the talent to run it all over UMass. Instead, the staff shuffled him and KJ Hall back and forth all game and he ended up with 11 carries for 52 yards.

We had what we needed to beat UMass - we just didn't use it right. Blame it on any coach you want, but it wasn't because we were on our 5th string running back.
