No, NCAA won't seriously hurt the SEC schools
You had an Auburn player admit during the NFL draft he was paid at Auburn -- no penalties have been levied.
Bama was caught in a textbook scandal and had to vacate some victories and pay a $46K fine (what a huge chunk of their $100 Million budget) but lost no scholarships.

The rules are different if you are in the SEC -- both to get in the playoff and any penalties for cheating.
