LDS Philanthropies discourages donations to CC in many instances

They want big donors to give their money to other charitable purposes other than Cougar Club and BYU football and athletics. Most other schools don't have to deal with this dynamic. The Alabama and Georgia booster clubs don't also solicit donations for some Christian ministry or world hunger initiative.

Other schools fanbases do, and I’d argue the cost of an education at these other schools far exceeds the cost at BYU.
