with my family and am thinking about flying up there (well, to Flores) from Guatemala City for a daytrip, or maybe overnight. Flights seem decently priced.

I went to Tikal many years ago, and it's one of the most fascinating places I've been, but I'm sure it's completely different now. I would appreciate if anyone has any travel advice.

Besides Tikal itself, is there anything else that I should plan to see or do while we're up there? I recall there were some other cool ruins in the area, but they were pretty inaccessible at the time. Not sure if they do jungle canopy tours or anything like that these days.
