How to determine if an iphone has been unlocked?
Ok. So I supposedly had a couple iPhone 8 phones unlocked by T-Mobile so I can sell them but not totally sure they are actually unlocked.

From doing a search there are basically 3 ways to check:

1. Subscribe to a service and they can check the IMEI number (don’t really wanna pay to check if there is another way)

2. Check some area of your settings that indicates through the wording of the cellular data that it has been unlocked (for some reason my phones use different wording so this doesn’t help)

3. Take someone’s SIM from someone else’s phone that uses a different service and pop it in your phone. Ya, I’m not comfortable just asking someone to pop their sim out so I can check if it is unlocked.

That being said, I do have an old att sim. It is inactive but when I pop it in the phone it does change from showing T-Mobile to att as the cell provider (even though I now use T-Mobile). I can’t make a call or text because it is inactive but I am kind of assuming that this means it is unlocked?

I just don’t want to falsely advertise something and have someone get it and freak out that it hasn’t actually been unlocked.

TIA
