A sad tale of youthful stupidity
My wife's aunt just lost her second husband. Her first died of cancer several years ago, and her second just died from complications related to hip replacement surgery. The saddest part of the second husband's death is the chain of events leading up to it. Back during Christmas, he decided he wanted to set up a somewhat elaborate light display. After doing so, someone vandalized the display one night. So he got out and fixed it all back up again. Unfortunately, the light display was again vandalized. As I was told the story, my wife's aunt told him to just let it go, but he said he wasn't going to let the vandals win. While out fixing the display again, he fell (I think off of a ladder) and shattered his hip. That led to his recent surgery, which led to his death (they think it was a blood clot).

Sad that some stupid kids indirectly killed a man because they thought they were having fun messing up his light display.

(I guess I don't know for sure they were kids, but deep down don't we all know it was some teenage boys?)
