Does he realize the luxury BYU has by having an active passionate fanbase...

...that care enough about BYU sports to have a chatboard of this magnitude. BYU Sports is obsolete if no one shows up to the games or watches. ESPN doesn't give us our own deal if nobody cares.

Players have to deal with "annoying" fans and fans have to deal with subpar performances.
