New PWO commit Hunter Greer represents what I love about BYU
I just interviewed Greer (http://byuinsider.com/football/hunter-greer/) and he gave pretty typical and cliché answers to many of the questions. Stuff like...
Favorite book? Book of Mormon.
Accomplishments? Making team better and being a good priesthood holder.
Things you want fans to know? I love my mom.
After the interview my impression was that he is a really nice kids, maybe a bit of a mama's boy.

But then I watched his tape and looked up his stats.

This kid is a beast. THIRTY TWO tackles for loss and 14.5 sacks (led the state). Four forced fumbles in the last two years. He's a monster on the field and is very strong. I see a lot of upside here.

I know many have felt this year's recruiting class was a major disappointment, but I personally LOVE what Sitake is doing. Yes, the recruiting class is not very highly rated. But Sitake and company secured an additional 10+ commits in the form of very good PWOs that really deepen this class and give BYU so many more options for the next several years. Almost every single PWO had scholarship offers but chose to walk-on at BYU. Fortunately for us history has shown that the cream will usually rise to the top and with a larger pool to choose from, and a longer timeline for player development (with missions and transfers) BYU is in a unique position to annually re-evaluate players and let the best players play. It'll be interesting to see how this all plays out.
