I grew up with 6 people in the house. Total living space of 1200 Sq Ft. We rented the basement.

We 6 are good in our 1850 sq ft. But our floorplan has no wasted space. (Okay, sometimes it feels a little cramped.)

We had 7 in a 1450 sq foot home for 3 years. It was difficult, but not terrible.
