was when we left (and we didn't have to bring football), that would be attractive. Everyone seems to have forgotten or be forgetting a couple of things:
1. The MWC would never budge an inch on TV rights before we left. Suddenly, when they wanted to attract Boise State, they gave Boise State some independent rights. We didn't foolishly walk away from that sort of arrangment because the other institutions were adamantly opposed to it. They flat out told us, "no." The old MWC was almost undoubtedly unwilling to budge if we had asked to take football independent and keep the remaining sports there.
2. The WCC did allow us to join the league and keep a lot of TV rights.
3. I'm a believer in rewarding those who treat you well with loyalty. To some extent, even if it costs you. The WCC has treated us well. We may whine about the officiating or the gyms sizes or whatever. But there is no conspiracy to have officiating go against BYU. And the member institutions of the WCC have treated BYU with respect.
4. If we were to go back to the MWC. It wouldn't be the MWC with the University of Utah and the strong UNLV and San Diego State teams from 2011. That MWC doesn't exist anymore.
