Basically doing the research and political legwork for elected officials who know nothing about politics, which is about all of them.

I studied Poli Sci and planned a for a job in some sort of intel or federal law enforcement agency (context: I speak Farsi & Dari and served as an interrogator in the military, then taught at a mid-career intelligence course for Army officers during my undergrad) but I had health issues which made the jobs I was considering unrealistic.

I went to grad school and became a teacher, somehow more underpaid and underappreciated than policy analysts.
