1971-1972. Starters were Kresimir Cosic-Yugoslavia; Phil Tollstrup-Canada; Kalevi Sarkalahti from Finland came off the bench.
Other starters- Bernie Fryer (Washington); Doug Richards-Utah; Belmont Anderson-Utah
This team was so fun to watch. Uptempo basketball with Cosic doing amazing things.
A little trivia. They were upset by Long Beach State 95-91 in Idaho State's Minidome. (NCAA Tourney) I saw that game live as I attended ISU and got tickets for all my relatives. IMO, BYU's guards had a rough day trying to deal with the dimensions of the dome. It's too bad because they had a chance to meet UCLA in the Western Region finals. (played in the Marriott Center!)
1980-1981 Timo Saarelanen from Finland contributed off the bench.
The only BYU team to reach Elite Eight status.
Starters- Danny Ainge(Oregon); Steve Trumbo(Nevada); Greg Kite (Texas); Steve Craig (California); Fred Roberts (Utah)
2010-2011
Starter- Charles Abouo-Abidjan, CI
Other starters- Jimmer Fredette (NY]; Jackson Emery (UT); Brandon Davies (UT); Noah Hartsock (OK)
I thought Doug Robinson's article was a bit extreme, but it is alarming to see 0 international players currently. I know other international players have contributed greatly. List them if you'd like.
