Tips for travelling in Europe - mainly Spain?
My wife and I have a 3-week driving vacation thru Spain later this spring.

For those having experience with vacations in Europe - mainly Spain - what are some travel tips? I lived in Europe while growing up so it's not totally strange for me, but it's been 3+ decades since I was last there.

I'm collecting tips from various places (Rick Steves, etc.), but thought I would try CB also.

For example - based on input and research - we bought a Garmin GPS device loaded with European and N. America maps. We will use GPS on our phones also, but decided to mainly use the Garmin.

Someone on here some time ago suggested buying a SIM in europe and putting that in our phones. I'm definitely looking into that.

I've seen advice about watching out for pickpockets so we have bought a theft-protected purse for my wife. I'm also going to buy a moneybelt to keep our money safer.

What about parking the rental car as we drive around? Most of the places we are staying supposedly have parking, but not all. Anything I should worry about there?

What about money? All of our hotels and major stuff are pre-paid. What about food and incidentals? Is it better to make periodic withdrawals of cash from ATMs and then pay with cash?

Any other tips, helps are appreciated.

TIA
