I think those who use social media are actually better able to translate them into real life relationships. Getting likes or followers on twitter requires you to know how people think and act, and so you’re actually more socially aware in real life situations.

I have some friends/roommates who don’t use social media. I have some who use it heavily. Guess who has things to do on Friday night and who doesn’t? Guess who doesn’t know about what’s going on in the world and who does? Guess who can make friends with any random and stranger and guess who can’t?
