The Economist weighs in on the controversy of reclining seats

Apparently it is well understood that the guy in front “owns” the right to recline.

An interesting discussion on the economics of that right ensues.

Personally, I agree. Additionally, with newer seats that slide forward when the back reclines, the disruption to the guy behind is minimal. There’s a reason why seats in front of emergency rows sell last - people don’t want seats that don’t recline.
