It’s easy to see how a team can run a better offense and lose to a team that isn’t running an offense as well. A team can have poor spacing and a lack of passing and be bailed out at the end of the shot clock by a really athletic individual play. That’s just one way. The team that runs an offense better could lack shooting ability to take advantage of the open shots their spacing and ball movement create. That’s another.

The offense on display in the Philly/Miami game was ugly. And it wasn’t just because the defenses played well.
