I think that believing coach-speak is silly. All coaches, Mendenhall, Sitake, all of them, are trying to do the same thing — win games. And their recruiting strategy is the same — bring in the best players that can help them win games and stay in the program.
What appears to be differences in strategy is simply their own particular way of explaining their inability to bring in all of the best players. Sitake may say that he is looking for unproven raw talent, Bronco may say that he likes grit. It's all just talk to appease the fans and keep their bosses happy.
It's like an inside joke where the more you think you are in on the joke, the more you are, in reality, the butt of it.
