They are trying to paint with a broad brush allegations that because a few BYU fans don't like the positive spin of some reporters, there is no way a BYU reporter can win. And it doesn't fit the narrative that BYU fans can't handle uncomfortable news. We all apparently suffer from persecution complex. Jay Drew is a victim of the horrible BYU fans.

Or maybe it could be that the majority of BYU fans are reasonable and want to read unbiased articles about their team, not garbage that tries to turn something good into a negative. I'm not expecting the reporters to try and polish a turd. I just don't want them being debbie downer ALL THE TIME when it comes to BYU sports. I'm curious if anyone can point to a BYU sports article over the past several years that was positive. Because there are many, many, many that became comical at how creative they became at spinning a positive into a negative.
