As an example I am way better off today than a family I know. Young (30 something) coach in our area just died of cancer leaving a wife and 2 kids under 9 y/o with no father or bread winner.
He was a member of the club I am a board member and Coach of as a kid (before my time) and he has helped countless kids gain a love for wrestling.
He and his wife brought their daughter to my girls only practices to help her gain a love for the sport by interacting with other girls in the area that also wrestle.
She is a great spirit that is very good at wrestling. Our community and club are putting together a benefit tournament to raise funds for the family that I can not participate in because I will be in UT/ID that week for my daughter's wedding. As one of the coaches of the daughter I desperately want to do something for them but can not invest the only thing I have (time) to the cause because of a prior commitment.
My famity is together and safe. This little family lost so much this week.
