We had a guy at my HS in CA that could win the 400/800/1600/3200 and anchor the 4x400 relay

I think there's a more common transition from the mid to longer range races. The sprints are unusual.

Not sure if new state times are recorded nationally but her 400 time was 2nd and 800 5th nationally.
