Instead of Five Musical Obscurities on Friday, I thought I'd post a Thursday Three. Disclaimer: I can't read music, I failed at playing the only instrument I ever tried (harmonica), and I learned how to sing from Morrissey. So my opinions on musical talent are definitely uninformed.
1. Johnny Marr
I may admire other guitarists. But Marr is probably the only one whose work really matters to me.
2. Les Claypool
Are bassists guitarists? I don't know. But I remember dancing around a huge bonfire at Lollapalooza and thinking Les Claypool was my hero.
3. Olga
There may be someone who plays faster than Olga, but nobody has more fun doing it. You don't have to be angry, or even serious, to play guitar. Sadly for me, you do have to have some talent.
