Between TLJ’s Mary Poppins, TFA’s completely unoriginal plot line and wussification of Han, (Rogue one was OK, but the main character wasn’t that interesting) I’m just not that big of a fan of the Disneyverse. I have similar feelings about JJ’s take on Star Trek.
Hear me out on III, though. Ian McDermott was an excellent villain and cheesy dialogue aside, it’s really fun to contrast it with Return of the Jedi and see how Anakin and Luke go down similar paths, but Luke course corrects while Anakin doesn’t. Then Anakin redeems himself in VI when he sees Luke make the decision that he should have made in III.
