It isn't really that high to jump off, but the water was kind of shallow the day that we were all trying it. Some guys at the top were just warning everyone that they needed to bend their knees in before hitting the water, or they would hit the bottom really hard. One person in our group jumped off and shattered her knee at the bottom. It was especially bad because the hike in is something like a mile, so it felt like she had to wait forever for paramedics to get in there.

In retrospect, it was dumb that any of us tried jumping off.
