One of my kids broke it in half and tossed it in the carpet rather than trash. I come walking along barefoot and stick it an inch and a half into the ball of my big toe. Part breaks of and it instantly gets infected after being in someone’s mouth and probably food on it.

The doctor gave me a shot, dug up in and removed what he found, put me on antibiotics and a painkiller. No X-ray because it’s wood and he says an MRI would most likely be inconclusive and the bodily would wall around anything and slowly push out any little piece/sliver if there is one.

2 weeks later I am still limping around to avoid pressure on it, and needing some sort of med just to sleep well.

Any suggestions or insight??
