Mike Young is the one that should really get the credit. Great guy, great
president who made great hires. He was only interested in making the U the best school it could be. The BYU Presidents are the other hand have a totally different agenda, one that is dominated by the church first and educational institution second. Sports is so far a distant third that in some ways I'm surprised BYU still has sports.
