(had a couple friends at Utah that got me and my buddy tickets and we got them tickets to the games in Provo). We were shielded from the worst of it during the game becuase we knew the Ute fans that we were attending with, but we still had several items thrown at us. One of the fans tried to throw a drink at us, but ended up missing and got most of it all over another Ute fan. When the other Ute fans around us started taking our side and yelling at the other fans to cut it out, that put an end to most of it.
After the game while trying to leave the stadium, my buddy got elbowed in the back of the head by a Utah fan who ran off into the crowd.
However, the worst experience I had was after the game 2 years ago. I was there with the same friend that I went to the 2006 game with, and this time we brought his 8-year old daughter with us. After the game one of the Ute fans got in his little girl's face while chanting "F*** you, BYU" and almost brought her to tears. We pushed him away and at first it looked like he wanted to fight, but he walked off after being told off by other Ute fans for being a jerk.
Most of my interactions with Ute fans at their stadium and ours have been good, but every group has its bad apples and they tend to seek you out when you are wearing blue in a sea of red.
