I think many of us are underestimating how impressive it was to win in Madison.
After beating Iowa in Iowa last night, they are the heavy favorite to win the Big 10 West, and would be a Top 5 team if we hadn’t beat them.

We are also more worked up than we probably should be about how we played vs McNeese St. We looked bad in the 1st quarter, but dominated the rest of the game, and won easily. Most neutrals would probably chalk it up to a hangover from the Wisconsin game, combined with high initial energy from McNeese for their biggest game of the season.

Even against what looks like a good Cal team, well, we were still recovering from 4-9 last year, plus there was probably a bit of a letdown after our biggest win since 2016 in the previous game. And still adjusting to a new offensive scheme. Good teams need to learn how to win, and we were (are?) still learning this.
