Utah St. especially always has a bye week before playing BYU. I would agree that a bye week may not be helpful, but that comes down to how they are in practice. If they are still giving it there all, then I think they will come to the game sharp and more prepared than they would without the bye week. If you are less motivated, then the team may get out of the rhythm they had and it will hurt them. The question is, how much does Utah St. want to beat BYU? And the answer, of course, is that this is the biggest game of the year for them. I think they want this win more than they want to beat Michigan St. So, I think the bye week definitely provides an unfair advantage to Utah St.
