As I was picking up my 1/4 cow from the butcher (BTW, he told me that the scene in Rocky where he's punching stuff in the meat locker is unrealistic, because the 700 pound chilled meat wouldn't move and his knuckles would be thrashed) and imagining all the delicious Black Bart's Roasts I'm going to make this winter, I was remembering how, in the third week of September, I put on 3.5 pounds, and I've only lost 3 of them so far. I was curious whether anyone else suddenly gets ridiculously hungry, with no apparent cause, when the days shorten.
