The billion marks a potential spending point. Spending money each week
on the lottery is a stupid drain on your pocketbook. You have a much better chance of dying on a plane than winning the lottery. It simply is not going to happen. And religiously no matter what the amount it is wrong to seek after get rich quick schemes. But taking all that into account, if you are going to make an occasional insane and "immoral" gamble for fun, then it's better to set some high mark on the prize amount that triggers the spending. It rarely reaches a billion, so if you spend 2 to 10 bucks, whenever it does, it's not going to break you financially. Let's just say it would be the responsible way to be stupid. And at a billion, it sort of is a mark for me where it becomes tempting to throw my money down the drain.
