I just finished English, American, and French Revolutions being extremely satisfied and feeling like I've gained a major handle on historical events that otherwise were mysteries to me and thought that was all I'd be interested in... then I started the Haitian Revolution and... this is probably more entertaining than the first ones...

Maybe it's me but this guy is just the perfect mix of smart, realist, nerd, story-teller, historian and linguist... I loved his history of Rome and this is even better...

If people understood history better I really don't think we'd have the political and social issues we are shoulder deep in now...
