As someone new to Arizona I have been pleasantly surprised with my daily commute.
Love how they have so many options for getting anywhere. Obviously the Phoenix valley is a lot wider than Utah and salt lake valleys but as you said the city did a great job in building and widening major roads to keep up with the growth.
I also agree with Texas roads as I served my mission there. I really like their freeway system.

Texas is pretty good in my experience. Arizona seems pretty good at it though I haven’t lived there just visited a bunch
