I readjusted my expectations after the LSU game.
I realized then and there, BYU will never again be consistently good. The world of CFB has passed us by and it’s no longer in our DNA to be consistently good again. The Honor Code is our insurmountable wall and its not changing. That combined with the fact that we will never be in a P5 conference pushes me to accept this new era of BYU FB.
But, I enjoy games more now that I know we will never go to a NY6 game or NCG. My expectations are realistic.
What keeps me going and engaged as a fan is the small hope that we might have a special season of 10-3 or 11-2 every 5-7 year and be in the top 20 at the end of the year. Go Cougs.
