I was trying to abbreviate cleverly with the one sentence of room I had to helm the kid home from his mission trip out.  I just spent some time on another post about an hour ago defending Nick for the following:

many fans and many on CB think he was a ball hog chucker & terrible.  My basic rebuttle was he was as good a freshman as BYU has ever had.  Did he progress his 2nd year and did he even backslide some YES.... But IMO better than I'd ever expect a soph to be esp at BYU.  I remember when kids didnt play till they were juniors or seniors period.. at all schools.  So I think its short sighted the fans that get on him for not being all world his soph year.  I attibute the fans expectations for those that prob live in utah or close to the situation so they I assume had to hear about him for 5 years and the hype couldn't be met.

So "sucked" was not a great word but I was describing the up and down he had with generalities.  We understand why his 2nd year was down... life hit him hard and those of us who have been there get it and support him.  That is all I meant. I, and I assume you, do not appreciate the fans who get on underclassman for not being all world...Jimmer was not Jimmer till his Junior year.  I argue I"m one of Nick's biggest fans who doesnt live there or know him personally.
